The Superior Court in Orange County handles all types of state cases including civil, criminal, family, juvenile, and probate. There are eight facilities throughout Orange County, Ca to serve the public.
The Court has trial jurisdiction over all criminal cases including felonies, misdemeanors, and traffic matters. It also has jurisdiction over all civil cases including family law, probate, juvenile, and general civil matters. There are also specialty departments for nonviolent drug offenses and domestic violence
cases.
The Orange County Superior Court is the fifth largest trial court in the nation in terms of the number of judicial officers and population served. The Court has a total of 144 judicial officer positions and approximately 1,600 staff to handle approximately 600,000 case filings each year and serve the County’s population, which exceeds 3 million.
